The Fit For Sport Foundation is made
up of Three Healthy Lifestyle initiatives; Fitter Families, Fitter Kids & Fitter Schools.
'Our vision is that the Foundation will give children and their families the support, education and tools needed to lead a healthy lifestyle'.
Our programmes and activities will educate children and families and help prevent diseases associates with obesity, lack of exercise and poor understanding of healthy lifestyles'.
Fit For Sport was born on the 12th October 1991 and it was always a dream of Dean Horridge’s (CEO / Founder) to work with a children’s charity which would give all children a chance in life.
The FFS Foundation is a charity that is dedicated to offer children aged 4 to 18 years from all backgrounds the opportunity to participate in Fit For Sport programmes across the UK.
Our programmes and activities will educate children and families and help prevent diseases associated with obesity, lack of exercise and poor understanding of healthy lifestyles.

We need to encourage our children to get fitter and stay that way so that they live longer, feel better and are more confident about themselves. Encouraging improved performance in school and in all that they endeavour so that they can begin their adult life with confidence and optimism.
Fitter Kids is the programme name for the Fit for Sport Foundation community outreach programme. The Fit For Sport Foundation is a charity dedicated to offering children aged 4 to 18 years from all backgrounds the opportunity to participate in Fit For Sport programmes around the country.
Our Fitter Kids programme was selected in 2006 by the highly publicised Channel 4 documentary, Ian Wright's Unfit Kids. Dean Horridge, CEO & Founder of Fit For Sport, was brought in by the documentary makers RDF Media as the Sports Consultant. From this success Ian has continued to work with us in encouraging & supporting disengaged children back into activity. 20-week after school clubs are run when possible.
Fitter Kids will engage children aged 11-15yrs, who are in danger of becoming obese, in physical activity as well as promoting healthy lifestyle techniques through a “SAS: Simple, Achievable, Sustainable way”. The initiative is community based and will run in local sports and leisure centres working in partnership with local schools. Parental support and attendance is paramount so as to get a family based learning approach.
