Who will be looking after my children?

Our team consists of generally young adults (between 18-35yrs). The majority of instructors have a sports qualification in subjects such as Sport Science, Early Childhood Education, Recreational Management or Physical Education such as a degree, PGCE, QTS
or NVQs. They will also have experience of working with children. Our full time staff work within our school services programme therefore you may see them around your child’s school, please stop & say Hi!

Each member of the Fit For Sport Team have been thoroughly screened, instructors are required to pass Police screening for working with children (CRB certified) and 75% are First Aid qualified. All instructors undergo ongoing training in the Fit For Sport philosophy and standards. Instructors are allocated programmes to teach independently once the criteria for each age range has been met & coaching techniques and policies are monitored to ensure that children in our care receive the highest quality of services.

Are my children safe during the sessions?

DSC00851.jpgFor all registered sessions parents are required to sign their children in and out of the day’s activities. Each parent is requested to check there personal details, requested upon booking including emergency contacts, allergies and medical consent form. Strict staff ratios are adhered to at all times for each age range.  Children are in Fit For Sport’s care until they are collected.

How can I be sure my children will enjoy the sessions?

As your child may not have been to a Fit For Sport session before we understand that they may be unsure. Fit For Sport have been in operation for over 17 years and pride themselves on ensuring each child has the best possible time.  If your child is apprehensive you could invite a friend to make sure they feel more confident, however coaches will buddy up children on their first visit.  Please refer to our Parents Protection Policy, available at all venues, for more details.

What should my children wear to Fit For Sport sessions?

Children are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothes, for example a tracksuit, shorts, training shoes and t-shirt (weather permitting). Additionally for football sessions children are encouraged to wear shin guards. Children are requested to bring a drink to all sessions (We say WATER is GOOD!)

What happens if my child is sick?

Please let us know if your child is unwell or cannot attend a session before 9am the day they are due to attend & we will do all we can to re-schedule!

What if it rains or shines during or before one of our sessions?

Sessions take place through light rain and our instructors will be waiting for you with a smile on their face rain or shine! Please dress your children appropriately for all weather conditions. Sun cream must be applied to all children on sunny days & don’t forget a hat!
