Physical Education

Fit For Sport work with partnership schools to deliver a fully inclusive curriculum programme that meets and exceeds the demands placed upon them.

With over 20 years’ experience we have a proven reputation for delivering consistent, High Quality, sustainable solutions to delivering an effect PE and Sport provision to schools.

As a result Fit For Sport is the only PE activity provider in the UK to be recognised by the Association for Physical Education (afPE) for its support of school staff Professional Development (PD) and its delivery of physical education and physical activity in schools and in their wider communities.  Fit For Sport are members of the afPE professional board where our schemes of work, programme of study, lesson plans (including cross curriculum links), assessments/attainment targets and quality assurance are all supported.

Our team of experienced staff are committed to not just delivering a PE and sport curriculum that only meets government’s targets for Physical Education but consistently exceeds them.  Our staff ensure lessons are taught in a style that will engage all children and encourage curiosity in their own learning and healthy Lifestyles.  We believe that is our responsibility to ‘Teach the Child, Not the Sport’ by teaching a progressive PE curriculum and enrichment programme for both Key Stage 1 and 2 including EYFS that includes; 

  • Gymnastics and Dance
  • Net and Wall Games
  • Striking and fielding
  • Invasion Games
  • Athletic Activities

Our staff are trained to deliver the following:                  

  • An afPE approved scheme of work.
  • Structured Physical Education Lessons (including Lesson plans KS1 & KS2) for all main National Curriculum Strands.
  • Full assessment/attainment targets for all children including Gifted & Talented.
  • Health Weeks, Inter School Competitions & Sports Days.
  • Lunchtime Provision & Training.
  • After School Clubs and Extended Schools Provision.

Our afPE approved & OFSTED recognised scheme of work includes;

  • Introduction to delivering high quality school curriculum PE
  • Meeting the 4 Curriculum Strands and Outlines of Scheme of Work
  • Cross Curriculum Subject Information
  • Skills and Sports Assessment Sheets for all Subjects
  • Termly overview of core tasks being taught  and weekly progress planners
  • Attainment Target Levels for Physical Education, including class weekly assessment trackers for all subjects
  • Individual child assessment
  • Class by class lesson plans
  • EYFS Legislation and School Requirements
  • Fit For Sport Policies, Procedures, Insurance and Staff DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service)
